So this time I will pen down one of my best travel experience . How does it feel when you travel alone for the first time? Scared? Excited? Well, my first such travel experience came up when I was 17 and I was sent overseas to spend Christmas with my fraternal family in the states. Imagine the plight of a 17 year old carrying three suitcases and all decked up excitedly to travel abroad. Isn’t that exciting how it appears to be. Mind you guys, every such experience is filled with numerous emotions. Emotions of being excited, having the sudden adrenaline rush to roam around our well known IGI and have a flight all to yourself, emotions of being away from home for the first time (is actually more when you are the only kid), emotions varying from dancing like Daffy Duck to crying like a Tweety within.
Apart from my emotions I can very well imagine how difficult it was for my parents to bid me a goodbye of that year at the airport, having so pain thinking how their daughter will travel for 22 hours. But all they did was saying the magical words with a smile, “have fun, beta.” Everything seems to be more jolly and exciting the moment you get to know your parents approval. It wasn’t an easy task on their part to let me go away from them for so long.
So, my journey began and i was ready to have that solo travel experience. I was adamant to get everything done right before I board. My dad repeatedly telling me how to handle everything and how to clear the customs, immigration etc. keeping all that in mind, a young 17 year old was ready to have the best adventure of her life. She performed all the tasks as mentioned by her father with great ease.
She started to roam around the shops, getting snacks and refreshments just to deal with her level of excitement. That walk all around the IGI didn’t seem so tiring as I imagined it to be (or rather calling it the young excitement walk). Honestly, when you’re ready with your shoes nothing seems painful. As the young heart began to explore she came across a lot of people, observing them carefully she understood minutely the diverse world that we live in. how everyone is striving to make up for a place in this huge globe, and how everyone fits in perfectly in the end.
As she boarded all safe, the agony of not being able to meet her parents struck her bad. As time spares none, she decided to keep herself sturdy and prepared for her long journey to come. She sighed a stepped on the aircraft without any second thoughts. Time didn’t wait and soon her eyes began to close and she dozed off as the plane took off.
Taking a halt at Guangzhou airport, the short yet cute airport witnessed by her. Boarding off being all mature and sensible she got all dressed up again and began exploring the place. The cute little minion bags or panda soft toys kept her lips smiling. As all girls begin their trips by the latest trend of clicking “selfies”, she too joined the league.
With a halt for about 6 hours, she decided to finish her journey and step on the scheduled time again. Eating chocolates, chit chatting with people, watching all her desired shows and movies in the aircraft, she kept herself busy. Least realizing that it was the time for her to arrive at her destination, Los Angeles, United States of America.
Looking forward to a great trip and the excitement for meeting her cute little monster cousins she bid the journey a goodbye. Boiling down to the purpose of this trip, it wasn’t only to celebrate Christmas but something much more. It was to travel around the world all by myself. As my parents took this bold decision and let my hand loose for a while, I decided to step in the shoes like a grown up and see the world as a responsible teenage and a young mature lady.
That was my travel experience. Comment yours if have any.
